The very-first Z06 mid-engine Corvette is set to arrive later in 2021. Even though the mid-engine Corvette Z06 is coming this year, it will still be labeled as a 2022 model.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Price
We don't have much information regarding the Z06 Corvette price range yet. However, we know that the front-engine Z06 sold for about $25k more than the base Corvette cost, so we can estimate by adding that amount to the 2020 Corvette starting price of $59,995. With this in mind, we figure that the 2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 MSRP might be around $85,000.
2022 Chevy Corvette: Is the Z06 a Trim Level or Performance Package?
The 2022 Chevy Corvette Stingray Z06 is its own model, unlike the Z51 Performance Package, which features some added upgrades to the standard Corvette Stingray. The Corvette C8 Z06 will provide its own engine and specs.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Interior Features
The new Corvette Z06 highlights the best performance of the Chevy Corvette brand. It features a square-shaped steering wheel, plus climate control buttons located on a slanted vertical wall in the center console. The list of amenities is never-ending, including a 12-inch fully digital gauge cluster, wireless charging, heated and ventilated seats, plus a head-up display. There's also an eight-inch touchscreen to support the Infotainment 3 Plus system, plus Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Engines & Horsepower + Torque
The new Corvette Z06 includes a unique engine that overpowers other supercars. The Corvette Z06 horsepower reaches beyond 600 because of the naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 motor. You will notice the howl, reminiscent of a Ferrari. It also pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, plus rear-wheel-drive.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Top Speed + 0-60mph Acceleration
We don't have the top speed and acceleration numbers yet for the 2022 Chevy Corvette. However, the 2020 Chevy Corvette Z51 with only 495 horsepower has a 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, so we know it will be faster than that. 2022 Chevy Corvette Z51 Performance Package
Current Corvette models offer a Z51 Performance package, but we aren't sure if it will make its way to the new Z06 Corvette. For now, the Corvette Z51 package includes:
- An upgraded cooling system.
- A stiffer suspension.
- Performance exhaust.
- Restyled front splitters.
- New rear spoiler.
- 13.6-inch front brakes.
- Higher rear axle ratios.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Exterior Colors & Dimensions
For the paint colors on the 2022 Corvette Z06, expect to see similar color choices that were available with the 2021 Corvette. The exterior dimensions of the 2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 have not been released yet. Still, we do know that the appearance has been enhanced with flared fenders, an aerodynamic addendum that adjusts to create better cornering traction and downforce, plus larger air scoops. With these new curves, there could be a slight change in the size and shape.
2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 vs. ZR1
There's no word yet on a C8 ZR1, but in the C7, this model became known as the most powerful production Corvette ever with 755 horsepower. While we hope there might be a 2022 Chevy Corvette ZR1 in the future, we can't help but be happy about the introduction of the 2022 Z06 model. Also, ZR1 Corvettes are not to be confused with the Z51 performance package. Even though the names are similar, they are quite different.
