What is the fastest you have taken your 2.0 Soul? I got to 108 and let off, too much traffic. I am curious if anyone have taken theirs to 120 or +

Sorry, I don't drive the 2.0L, just the little 1.6L, but she'll do 110 any day that I can get a clear hole through I-75 traffic.
If I had a couple of miles of completely clear roadway, I'm sure she'd do even better.
PS: I'd love to take Gertrude to the Salt Flats, just to see what she'd do.

105 on my 1.6L until the engine and tranny noise started scaring me. Clearly not meant for it. Lol.

What!!!! Only 85.12785 mph?
That's just cruising speed for my Gertrude.
You're dogging it!

As far as I can recall I think about 135-140 kmph was about the max I did on my 2012, just to get out of the way of a convoy of trucks on the 401.

Once I did 112 mph on my 1.6 crdi, might do more but there was no safe road for such experiments. It is very uncomfortable speed on a poor equipped road.

89 MPH.
Over the years in other vehicles
a "speed test" has always been conducted.
Though it's true, so far, I have been babying "Bessie".
And I haven't mashed and held, the pedal to the metal, yet.
Sure, I went 89, but that was no where near the potential.
I usually drive like there is an egg under the gas pedal.
Slow start ups over jackrabbit acceleration, every time.
Well, in one of a hundred times
I turn off the "ECO" and put the hammer down,
off the line. (And through the first three or four gears).
I'm a guy. What beyond that can I say? lol.
Now, if we are talking rental car etiquette.
An additional mandatory test with any rental car.
Has been, find a large empty parking lot,
before I bring it back, to see. . . .
How fast can a runtle car go in reverse?!?
Put it in "R" and floor it! What fun.

That's even more fun, if the parking lot is covered with ice and snow!
And, even more fun yet, with a 400 BHP V8 under the hood! lol
PS: but in all seriousness, the engine in the Soul is a High Tech engine that wants to RUN.
Baby it and you'll ruin it!!!

The fastest I've gone in my Soul was (according to the speedo) 124mph, I drive from Phoenix to San Diego and back every once in a while and try to see how fast I can get from one place to the next sometimes. I won't say how fast I can get from one place to the next but it's pretty quick.

I have done 112 m/h on German highway, could do higher but traffic didn't allow.

Neither,,,,, I just know how to drive a car with a High Tech engine in it.
Obviously very few do! And you don't!!!!
At 43,000 miles, Gertrude is still running betterer and betterer!!
And if a day goes by that she doesn't hit the rev limiter, it's only because it's a day that she stayed at home.
I'll repeat what I've said many times before, "baby it and ruin it!".

nice going lokey
I believe you have the fastest so far 129mph :applause:
my next go will be "balls to the walls" so to speak
I washed my Soul and I always get on the interstate to blow it off since it is only 8/10 mi from my house. I usually run it to 80 for 2 exits which = about 3.5mi. I see a mini Cooper coming up on me fast then just sticks side by side without them looking over at me, he just glues front bumper to front bumper so I said "WTF" and floored it while waving bye bye; I hit 127 (it was still pulling, I didn't even look at the RPM, pretty close to lokey I'm sure) and just walked away and I could see him rocking back and forth as if it's going to help him go faster. I was very impressed with the Soul. These bricks really surprise a lot of people. It made this old man just a bit too proud of our bricks :applause:
But according to the Specs the Soul should walk a regular Mini:2013 2-Door Coupe and they cost competitively about the same.
SAE Net Horsepower @ RPM 121 @ 6000
Base Curb Weight (lbs) 2535
I'm not sure what model it was but it wasn't a
John Cooper Works GP
The Mini John Cooper Works GP is a bad ass for sure:
special edition with just 2,000 units
Only 500 units will be imported to the U.S. market where it will be priced at $39,950 (includes $700 Destination and Handling charge).
year:2013
make:Mini Model:Cooper
Engine:inline-4Horsepower @ RPM:218 @ 6000 Torque @ RPM:191 @1750 Displacement:1.6
L0-60 time:6.3 sec.
Top Speed:150 mph
Curb weight (C/D est): 2600 lb and our Soul is 2700 and change (no bad for our Souls)
I have no idea what (C/D est) is
But it is a coupe, a 4 door may be an interesting go. I know I would give it a go turbo Mini and all

FYI I was nervous, almost to the point of scared chitless to be honest.
