i have a 2014 speedy, i have 3 into 1 arrow installed, other than that the bike is stock. top speed on these bikes is suppose to be 150. mine only does bout 115! i have had the tune checked and everything is right. bike runs great and sounds great but at about 7 grand in 6th gear bike acts like rev limiter is stopping it. anybody have any idea what the problem might be?

I don't know but, for reference, I've done 122 on my '12 and it was still pulling when my brain was finally able to reel in my right hand. ....and, with full gear, I'm topping out at 250 so it's not like the bike was hauling around a jockey.

Something is very wrong. Are you married, did your wife unplug one of your spark plugs????
Can you explain some details in having your tune checked? Just reading the version number, for example, does not mean the tables are no corrupted.
I would reflash with a fresh copy for your model/year/Vin and try again.
Silly question, your throttle cable is not hanging up is it?
In theory, on a Open Road Test Simulator mine will do an indicated 138 to 140 before the lights come on and my rev limiter kicks in (I have a 45T rear sprocket).

Whooot!? Im with the wife theory... 2010 stocker here158mph
Call me cheapass or as I'd prefer "purist" but add-ons are a waste of coin imho, looks? I say the speedy looks more than appealing out of the factory... Nuff said

According to the calculator with std gearing it should be doing approx 130mph at 9400rpm in 4th gear, and about 145mph at the same revs in 5th without even going to 6th. If you are revving out in 5th and only hitting what,100?, you either have a genuine issue or amended gearing for a short track. You would notice. The front wheel would be near vertical most of the time!

my speedometer starts to catch up at 136 mph and by then without a gear or helmet the wind becomes uncomfortable

Don't know if it relates to the Speedies but When I updated the map in my bikes ECU a couple of years ago I noticed that the new map was slightly different to the old map in that it DIDN'T have a top speed variable to adjust, just like the speedo calibration variable. Maybe this is it?

no i am not married. i bought this speedy end of august 2014 brand new! all i had done was the 3 into 1 arrow exhuast and the bike was lowered, other than that it is stock! the dealer is kissel motorsports, state college pennsylvania... after i put 500 or so miles on it i took it to precision bike works and had the tune checked cause it seemed kinda sluggish, they siad there is only 2 tunes that can be used, everything checked out .. bike seems to run great other than it seems like rev limiter stops it in 6th gear at bout 7 or 7.5 grand .. its to late in the season here to get anything done bout it now. winter is on its way and temps are way to cold to ride

Take the thing back to the dealer, let them deal with it. Warranty should cover it? Dunno if the mods have something to do with these symptoms or if they will void the warranty :S

.... .. bike seems to run great other than it seems like rev limiter stops it in 6th gear at bout 7 or 7.5 grand ........
Can you describe how the bike behaves when you reach 7500RPM in 6th gear? Does it do the classic spark arrest rev limit function that sounds awful and the bike stutters really bad?
Also, I am fairly certain the the Rev Limit function is a single value for all gears so the bike should behave identically in 1st at 7500rpm as it does in 6th.
Also, don't take this the wrong way (I am just asking questions to better understand what might be happening with your bike) but have you reset your shift light setpoint? The factory sets the turn on level for your shift lights low during the break in period and you need to change it to a higher value so it does not light up when you are still in the lower revs. That could possibly confuse some riders that they are hitting the rev limit when they are indeed not.

My best was 147mph.......I highly doubt it was accurate though. LOL!

'01 Analog speedo owner here. I have no idea how fast I've gone. The few seconds I've glanced down going that fast(usually dark and early in the morning) my speedo is wobbling back and forth between 125-140?!?! Split the difference, I dunno, maybe 130? At that speed I certainly don't care. It's too fast for the street regardless(not even a highway). Good luck sorting your speedy out though!

Before supercharging 18/45 gears GPS verified 136 mph
After, with 19/45 gears, again GPS verified 165 Mph . It still had more and the clutch was slipping . so more is there .
I have a hard time believing a stock bike with stock gears can do better than 140 with a tail wind and featherweight on board.
The aero is not there .
